Cooling occurs when water evaporates, particularly in dry climates. The beauty of Evaporative Air Conditioning is its simplicity. It's a process which occurs naturally wherever water and hot air come into contact. A cool breeze results from hot air passing over water-soaked cooling pads. Natural evaporation takes place which soaks up the heat and cools the hot air.

A healthy environment

Breezair provides definite health advantages. Air from outside the building is drawn through special pads saturated with fresh water, and the air is gently moisturised as well as being cooled.

Unlike the dry, positively ionised, artificially chilled air produced by conventional refrigerative air conditioners, Breezair delivers cool, humidified, negatively ionised air, which is far kinder to sensitive nasal passages, eyes and skin. Nasal passages do not dry up and therefore colds and flu are less likely. The negative ions generate a feeling of well-being and relaxed enthusiasm as opposed to the feeling of depression induced by positive ions.

Evaporative cooling systems typically replace the air in the target space with clean, cool fresh air every couple of minutes. Not only will the system make the target space cool when it is hot outside, but it will moisturise the air when it is dry. As the system maintains high levels of oxygen and negative ions in the target space, it encourages alertness and assists with peaceful sleep. Any unpleasant odours as well as irritating particulate contaminants such as dust, lint and pollen are flushed out of the room by the gently flowing air. World's 1st corrosion - proof cabinet. A Breezair cabinet will not corrode or rust, ever! In fact, our UV stabilised structural polymer is the same type used to make acid baths, battery cases and components for space satellites. Permatuf® is extremely light and only requires a simple support system. Its insulating properties minimise heat and noise transmission so that the water stays cooler and noise is absorbed. As the Permatuf® is UV stabilised it will not rust or corrode, so it will look new and it will last for many, many years.

Evaporative Coolers - Icon Range
The smart choice

The Breezair Icon series is the top-of-the-range, state-of-the-art, featured evaporative cooler. It will appeal to the discerning user who requires the best-looking, maintenance-free cooler available. The Icon range is particularly suited to homes and aesthetically designed commercial buildings.

In addition to the features shared by all Breezair coolers, the Icon series has the following: -

Flexibility in air delivery

Breezair Icon series coolers are designed to be mounted on top of the roof, discharging air downward from the cabinet. A selection of air distribution modules is available from Turbo Vent's Dealers to conduct the air through the roof and distribute it to the targeted indoor spaces.

Automatic weatherseal

An integrated weather seal damper automatically shuts off the passage from the cabinet to the air distribution system each time the machine is switched off. This keeps warm air indoors and prevents cold draughts entering.

Strong, attractive cabinet in various colours

The cabinet is moulded from "Permatuf" structural polymer plastic in a choice of colours: beige, heritage green, terracotta and slate grey. In addition, the cabinet can be colour coated to your specification. The attractively contoured side panels of the cabinet feature upward curved ribs that scoop rainwater to clean the pads and prevent splashing water from staining the roof. The ribs also protect the pads from destructive birds and screen the pads from ground view. The cabinet is tough and UV resistant and is designed to provide easy access for maintenance.

Unique "Clean and Dry" function

The Dealer is able to programme the Breezair so that after a specified interval following the cooler being switched off, the "Clean and Dry" function automatically drains stale water from the sump, leaving it clean and dry.

Choice of controllers

The system can be controlled manually or semi-automatically from a wall-mounted control panel or from a hand held, radio linked controller. See Control button above for details.

Quiet, powerful centrifugal fan and motor

The patented, one-piece, polymer centrifugal fan enables the cooler to push large volumes of air through extensive lengths of ducting. This would not be possible with an ordinary axial fan. Its aerodynamically designed blades eliminate harmonic noise. Its low inertia enables it to reach and maintain its operating speed with minimal power.

The new ICON series uses revolutionary direct drive technology where the motor is integrated with a centrifugal fan that spins around a fixed drive shaft. It is this fan and motor combination that makes this ICON unit "the quietest and most efficient whole of home ducted air conditioning system in the world.

High-quality Chilcel evaporation pads

The pads are of patented 90mm thick Chilcel. In the model EXh210, two of the pads are 100mm thick to accommodate the extra volume of air in the model. This patented material possesses excellent saturation properties. The design of the pads ensures that the water is presented to the air stream as a uniformly distributed matrix and the extra thickness of the Chilcel extends the opportunity for the air to come in contact with water, increasing its cooling capacity.
